World Food Day

WORLD FOODDAY

October 16, 2009 is observed as World Food Day. Under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the event is designed to bring focus to the hunger problem present throughout the world. According to the FAO, there are 1.02 billion malnourished people in the global community. The yearly observance of World Food Day is an opportunity to collaborate and reflect on solutions to this problem.
